FastCap Glue Boat
Has anyone here tried one of these yet, I am interested if it really does prevent the glue and brush going had over long periods. You may ask what is a long period, sorry I haven't a clue and FastCap seem a bit vague on that point.

These "new" glueboats have been standard and common place in continental Europe for quite some time. Infact, if you youtube or google any Danish furniture manufacturer, you will see them scattered all over the place.
I have used one for a few years, and I love it. It is handy to take around the workshop and in a toolbox if you have to go on-site.
I dont know where Timbecon gets theirs from, but mine was made in continental Europe and has a red cap on it.

Thanks for the info Siggy, I first saw one on a YT video and it seemed like a good idea because the brush does not have to be washed out and the glue bottle top getting clogged won't happen or that is the theory.

yeah absolutely, although the brush that is supplied with it tends to be moreso suited to mortise, tenons and joints you'd find on chairs, dining tables etc. I have a small acid brush for dovetails that fits in right beside the regular brush. The only thing you have to remember is to shut that cap....otherwise it all goes to poop!

If you use a pva glue and do forget to wash it out after use, soak it in ordinary white vinegar for a couple of hours. Use a wire brush to clear the glue away and wash the brush with soap and water. I have had brushes dry with glue in them for several weeks and successfully restored them for reuse using the vinegar trick. Imperative that the brush is thoroughly washed after the vinegar treatment.
