Default Feedback wanted - Yr 9 Students working at Sydney Timber Show

    Hi All,

I coordinated the State-Wide yr 9 Timber challenge that some of you may have seen at the Sydney Timber & Working With Wood Show in the Hordern Pavilion.

It seemed from my side to go well, with a few areas that I can see that we need to improve on.

I'd be interested in any feedback you may have on this challenge, as we're putting this to bed - it looks a lot bigger and better next year, just want to get the planning right for next year, and public commentary helps.

Public posts are fine if you want to reply below. If you want to contact me off-line, please send an email by clicking on my user name above, or send it directly to [email protected] Note: delete the capital letters in the email address.

Positive or negative feedback is fine. I'd appreciate all comments.

    Thanks in advance,

    eddie

(Side note to Moderators - I stuck this in General as the TAWWWS folder is not likely to be viewed by many now the show is over and I'd really like the feedback. Please move it if you wish with apologies.)

Hi Eddie, I think it was a great thing to see the young men in there learning something that will stay with them there whole life wether they choose a career in this feild or not. Woodwork skills and the patience you learne from this type of activity is something to be cherished. I was sorry I wasn't there to see them finish on the Sunday. Would have been good to see the boys out in the centre somewhere with a bit more focus on them, although that might distract them a little too much, How did the boys react to there time at the show? Did people give them enough encouragement etc?
I was the person who went through the door with you early Saturday morning, if you remember.

    HI CH,

Yes, I do remember you -> Was nice to meet you and thanks for the comments.

Comments from the public were, on the whole, very supportive.

I trust that the day went well for you as well.

    Cheers,

    eddie

I thought the whole schools & TAFE exhibition was bigger & better this year, and the quality was higher. When I went through, the kids were actually doing woodwork, rather than skylarking like we would have when I was a boy.
