Festool domino from Italy.
Would there be any power problems from buying a festool domino cutter in Italy and just changing the plug or using an adapter?
Why i hear you ask. Well Australian price is $1500 and Italian is $900 plus post.

I have one. It came with a UK plug. The only thing you need to be aware of is that there is no warrantee. However, Festool is pretty reliable.

thats a good price, as long as its good for 230 volt then its just the plug that needs changing.
I haven't had any major issues with any of my festool gear over the last 9 years, its a risk worth taking at that price.

No need to wonder, companies love screwing aussies on premium products
Also we have less population than europe/UK/USA, so its all economies of scale, plus a little for for freight and higher wages here.
Remember that GST limit on anything under $1000 is ending soon, if you are thinking of buying in the next few months.

Yep. Same. Got mine from UK a few months back. Back then was just on $1000 for both the unit and accessory box including shipping. Price here for both at the time $1850!
Just plug in any other festool plug it cord or switch the plug to au one; easy.
I'm yet to send anything back for warranty ever in my life so for me the value in Australian warranty is not there; particularly not for $850-. (Now that I've said that everything I have will break lol).
Having said that I've only used my domino for one project so far in 5 months, although in that case it really came in handy to cut 128 mortises so it has value for me already but not the "must have" tool I originally thought.

Who is the Supplier that is shipping to Aus from the UK?
I might have to have a look, as there are few items i wouldn't mind having a look at to compare to the prices here.
Cheers

If the delivery included cost exceeds 1000 bux , beware than more than 10% GST will probably be levied.
The $300m GST grab hardly anyone knows about

Plus the $1000 tax free import is dropping to $300 in june.
If you have a friendly seller you can always ask if they send the item as a warranty repair therefore no purchase and no tax. I am not sure about tax and gifts from friends ( more research)

Nothing like more tax to make it "fairer".

Uk tax is 17.5% Australian 10% and its still cheaper in the uk and they wonder why we want to save $500.

No honest business would mark a sale as "gift" or "repair". It is illegal to do so. I would think twice about dealing with a business prepared to do that. But, that's just me.
