Default Best way to fill knot holes

    Hey guys,

I am have used some pine T&G lining boards for the sides of a cabinet, and there are some knots where the centre has completed fallen out. The hole would be about 15~20mm dia. the knots are pretty much all black.
Whats the best way to fill these holes? I will be staining it afterwards. Should i just get some black putty and stick in?

    Cheers guys!

Cut some branches of a tree with a suitable colour and size and glue into the holes. Leave the bark on and fill the the gaps with a mix of sawdust and shavings set with CA glue.

If it isn't too big, try gluing in a wine bottle cork - you may have a few left over from last night...

I have always just filled them in with wood filler that matches the kind of wood you are using.
