    I've used casting resin numerous times too and it's great for filling voids. Gives a water-clear finish so you can see all the natural colours etc, which makes gum veins look great.

    I just have absolutely no confidence that anything like that is going to last long outdoors. All bets are off when you leave something out in the sun and the rain.

    Given this:

    the chosen filler must not break down due to weather
    There is nothing I can recommend from personal experience. Which is why I suggest leaving it as is, oiling it up, and learning to love the natural 'defects' of timber

    Really fine black grout should be pretty much weather-proof, not sure how practical it will be to use.

    Ive used casting resin as well and added plastic frogs, redback spiders, ants etc freaks visitors out esp 'greenie' relatives
    I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
