Default Finding wood for projects in Montana

I recently moved to Bozeman, MT from Texas and I've guickly come to realize that specialty woods for furniture projects are hard to come by here. Specifically, I want to build (for the 2d time) some Norm Abrams adirondack chairs from Cypress wood. The ones I built a decade ago lasted well, but I left them in Texas when I made the move up here.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get Cypress, Cedar or other good outdoor project wood in Montana? Thanks in advance.

The nearest good lumber yard that I know of to Montana is Sears and Trostel, in Fort Collins, CO, where I used to live some years ago, before returning to Australia, where most members of this forum are located; so they will probably be even less helpful in answering your question than I am

    David,

Sorry, no-one could be less helpful.

    RSW64,

You indeed need some help, but not from this forum. I am glad that you were thoughtful enough to ask an Ozzie WW forum where to find timber in Bozeman (gawd-help-us) Montana. I wish I had thought of that. I believe I'll go to bed on this note.
    Cheers,

    Bob

Nonsense. There's a few members in Washington and Oregon who might steer you well. Also, Google [cypress cedar montana] and wade through the hits.

A very sensible suggestion and one I might have made if I had not been too busy being a smartarse.

I considered the same suggestion, but hesitated about lack of reciprocity with WWF. They get their knickers in a knot about outside url's, especially those with a commercial dimension. Note you'll need to sign up to post messages or view pictures.
