Default fine woodworking magazine ... conversion problems

i recently received an email from fine woodworking saying that they were using a different provider for despatching the magazine ... i followed the prompts and changed my password etc and successfully can use the site

HOWEVER .. i noticed that my address was shown as canada rather than australia ... i was unable to correct this online and had NO response to emails

this morning i managed to telephone them and it was fixed quickly ... the data conversion had picked up the NS from NSW and made it nova scotia ... possibly because states and provinces in usa and canada only have two characters ... having worked on large scale computer applications i can see how it may have happened (although that is pretty careless)

other print subscribers on this forum may wish to check to make sure their addresses were not corrupted ...

the good part of the story is that the telephone call was quick, painless and effective (apart from the time difference and not being able to phone if my wife was still asleep which meant i had a time window of about 15 minutes) ... the operator pleasant and helpful

    regards david

Great news. The previous lot were useless idiots on a good day, and that was a rare occurence!
