    Default Fine Woodworking Subscription

Back in September I took out a subscription to FWW. As edition 173. Nov/Dec has been out for some time in the US, and will be my first subscription copy, I have no idea whether or not I should have received my copy by now. Do other subscribers have their copy, or am I a bit anxious.

I've had mine for a week or two, suggest you give it another few days then email Taunton's to let them know it hasn't arrived.

I've always had impeccable service and emails are responded to by a person.

    Cheers,

My first issue arrived a few weeks AFTER the 2nd issue - it was missing the plastic wrapper & had a 'new' typed address label stuck on by Aus. Post. Since they come in a totally opaque plastic wrapper, possibly some bozo at the local distribution centre thought it was a P*** mag. & either was too embarrassed at finding a wood mag and dropped it, or it turned out he was a secret sawdust junkie like us.

'Tis too - there are some here who get off on FWW MUCH more than a brace of over-sized mammae......

(Not sure if I'm in that category or not - it's me age, perhaps!)

treated myself to a subscription last year (MUCH cheaper than buying it on the newstand ).

initially got very confused by them sending a surprise earlier issue after I'd received a later one which arrived wrapped in nothing. That glitch aside had no problems.

Expect to be bombarded with renewal notices from about 6 months before-hand.
I don't seem to have been bombarded with significant amounts of extra spam as a result so I figure they don't onsell your details.
no-one said on their death bed I wish I spent more time in the office!

    Dearest Squizz,

If you subscribe for three years TODAY, you will get 21 issues (6 plus Tools and Shops per year) for the princely sum of US$104.95.

At this morning's exchange rate, that works out at $AUD 6.40 per issue, leaving you enough change to subscribe to Wood Review AND Australian Woodworker as well.

Got anything planned for your credit card today???

It seems there must be FWW junkies in the mail system. I've had the occasional copy go missing. Email Taunton and they reply and respond with a replacement quickly, as the Midge says.

I paid my subscription on 9th Sept and e-mailed Tainton this week to find out what was happening . They got back to me in 2 days to say that my first issue had been posted but that the first one took 6 weeks or so . Still waiting.

Their web site indicates a 6 week delay for the first issue. Might give them a bit longer, then follow up.
