Default Fine Woodworking - Yes or No

I know there is some old posts on this,But I am thinking about subscribing to "Fine Woodworking Magazine."

What do you guys think of the magazine and the delivery down here (Australia).

How often does it come out?

I saw it in the news agent for $17.00 ,so I reckon it has to be cheaper suscribing.

    Regards

    Greg

I do, as do quite a few others on this board.

A search would reveal answers to your questions....but.....since you asked.

Delivered fairly quickly, over the past 6 years or so I have not received 2 copies, an email and voila 1 week later a copy arrives.

7 copies a year including the Xmas special.

Costs around 1/2 the price of through a newsagent, but that depends on the exchange rate. I subscribed and renew through their web site.

    Default FWW Online

You should also consider FWW online. Full access to the magazines + a thousand pdf downloadable articles from previous mags, photo galleries, videos and more.

Even cheaper to get it the way I do, borrow from your municipal library. Occasionally there is an article worth keeping, so I photocopy it.
So much stuff in mags overall is repetitious and ho-hum. Just page fillers, something to keep the ads apart. Often I get a mag out of the library (not necessarily FWW), and after going through from cover to cover, I think to myself "I'm glad I don't subscribe".

If you do decide to stop getting it, it is like shaking off the endless snail mails from the Reader's Digest.

    Love it
    ... and the on-line version

after my current 2 yr subscription runs out I might consider the online version only ... the article you want without all the searching ... and in mags that you may not own

then again I don't want to take a 'puter to bed ... and it's good to read while waiting for the kids etc
