Finishing Vic Ash frames
Hey all,
Looking for some feedback / ideas on finishing off Vic Ash Picture frames.
Wanting to do something other than just a clear poly coat. Don’t feel the need to use a stain as I am happy with the natural variation , but open to oil / wax / etc. As these are commercial projects - time is obviously an issue as I need to turn them around within a week.
Cheers
Wags. It's hot out there !!.... and the fridge is empty.

Oil and wax finishes are not favored for picture frames as it can make it's way into the artwork and ruin it, shellac, lacquer is what I use, if it is really hi class gilding,
another finish popular with picture frames is Paint wash depends on the location and surrounding decor and the artwork subject matter, frame artwork and decor come together and create a complete package.
A wax or oil finish can be created using clear coats by rubbing the finish back.
