Fireplace Surround Recreation
Hey guys need a bit of help on trying to recreate this fireplace surround for my house.
I have some left over marble of similar colour.
Atm I have a standard red brick fire place, square, around 200mm deep off the wall.
I plan to spghetti a sheet of MDF to the brickwork and recreat the beading with some mdf/pine mouldings.
Anyone know of a place where I can find some mouldings along these lines?
Particularly the "half post" style upright etc, and a plan of attack on the mantle peice.
Any suggestions would be great!

You may have more luck with plaster mouldings for the columns, but the beading etc might be at Bunnings - if not try A.Lewis Timber (http://www.alewistimber.com.au/product.html). The mantle would be a case of cutting small blocks and sticking them on.

Norm Abrams made a mantle almost identical. It was replayed for free recently on the New Yankee Workshop. Here Unfortunately you'd have to pay for the episode now.
Those were the droids I was looking for.
