I'll have to roll out the noggin word to keep things interesting.
noggin
noun nog·gin | \ ˈnä-gən
\
Definition of noggin
1 : a small mug or cup
2 : a small quantity (such as a gill) of drink
3 : a person's head
P.S., do you do single or double top plates?Innovations are those useful things that, by dint of chance, manage to survive the stupidity and destructive tendencies inherent in human nature.

Interesting, double on all walls here (residential frame). Another term for noggin is strut. A vertical, as under or above a window frame rough out is a 'cripple'. I have some old framing books that I now want to dig into...

What you call a cripple in a wall frame we call a Jack Stud. A rafter that does not go from the wall plate to the ridge is a cripple rafter.
The reason we don’t have a double top plate on non load bearing walls is so that the truss does not touch it and only sits on its designed bearing walls

Lurching precariously back to the original thread...
There is another reason not to consider that American product and its claims regarding holding power, in the US their plasterboard is usually 1/2” thick. In Aus we only use 3/8”.
As everyone else has said, either use a longer rail or mount it on a piece of timber/metal that can be fitted to the studs, or bite the bullet and cut into the wall to fit noggings. The next person who lives in that house might be a 150kg blob... with a good lawyer.Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

29.08.19 - Update: ended up going with the easiest option and that was mounting the rail directly into the posts in the wall.
The uprights are not directly across from the other wall but close enough.
Next up was to install a disability toilet suite to assist with getting up and sitting down, a must for anyone getting on in years.
