Fitting & removing velcro sanding disks
Bought a 12" disc sander at Hafco sale- too cheap to pass up. Thought I'd better get the velcro disc conversion whichs is now fitted.
The gap between the disc face and the table is very narrow and the lower half (below the table) is covered by a dust collector.
The only way I can see to easily (relatively) fit a sanding disk is to keep a piece of paper between the back of the disc and the velcro on the sander while lowering it into position. I can live with that.
How the hell do you get the sanding disc off the faceplate without dismantling the table and dust collector. When you pry it loose at the to its still stuck at the bottom and when you rotate it the sanding disc just re-sticks.
Is there a special technique to doing this?

Make up a 1/2 circle of paper 6" radius. Peel off half the sandpaper and then slip 1/2 circle between the paper and the velcro loops. turn the other half to the top and peel of the other 1/2.

Another method (also inspired by Bob).
Peel off half the sandpaper, proceed to eat some cold chilli....
