    Default Fixing nails through blueboard??

    Hey Guys,

I am doing a feature wall for a friend where he wants merbau nailed onto a wall with blueboard on it..

Just wandering if fixing nails would go through the timber and blueboard or are they gonna have some trouble and start
    bending?

Has anyone had any experience with this?

    Appreciate any feedback/ideas

    Cheers

Excellent comment, if there is any chance they will get wet, you will get leeching.
If there is tiles / concrete / paver's under it, they will go black if leeching occurs.
There are leeching sealer's / inhibiter's available, check them out and if you use them, cut all boards to fit and seal all edges, ends, face and back of boards before nailing and then again after nailing on the face.

One observation: blueboard ain't the ideal thing to nail to. Not if you want it to last. Better if you locate the studs behind and nail through the blueboard and into the studs.

(Just slipping this in, 'cos I've been called out to fix similar jobs where either the fixing nails were too short or the builder "couldn't be bothered" locating the studs first. Of course, no members of this forum would ever make that mistake now, would we? ))
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Skew got it right if you don't find the studs the boards will fall off, nails into that stuff don't hold
