If it said insert 12 dowels into 14 holes you have been confused on which 2 holes to leave out?
I think it means take 2 out and replace with 2 others?
Take out the 2 you hammered in and damaged the end of and put 2 new ones in?
You get to decide where to drill extra holes for the other 2 pins?
They are made for US southerners, you get to use them as replacement teeth?

I assumed the dowels were part number 14, and that you had to put 12 of them into holes in part number 4. I have put together too many cheap flatpack things.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Ah, much learer when you actually enlarge the picture rather than look at the thumbnail.

But they also make it confusing by making the dowels Part No 14 (and 14 of them) going into part 4.
I have an old plastic model car kit I have not made in 20 years. Wonder if I can still do those. Now they had rotten instructions.
(will I be strung up for plastic use alone?)

Ha, I have found the problem. If the flat pack had been sourced from Ikea then there would be no words to confuse you - only a picture.
I have assembled too many items. Some only have pictures to confuse.
