Question Flexible ply that can be formed wet & retians shape of form once dry

    Hi Forum,
    This is my first post.
I am after some more bendable ply that can be formed into curved shapes to make small sculptures. I Have some that I soak in hot water, temporally clamp into the shape I want and then let it dry. Once its dry it retains the formed shape. I am not sure what type it is (off cuts from unknown source) but it seems to behave differently to standard bendable ply which does not retain the formed shape so well (not as stiff when dry). The material I have is 3 layers of laminate approx total 6mm thick and has a high level finish (Tasmanian oak like fine grain) both face sides.
Does anyone know what product this might be and where I might source some in Sydney?
Be glad of any advice you can provide. Didn't realize I had stumbled onto something special & am fast running out.
    Regards - Plyquest

I have mahogany ply like that: 3 layers but it can't be more than 4mm thick.
Cut it to make gigantic Moibus Strip loops but my bending technique is inferior.
Up here, that is referred to specifically as "door skin", used primarily as the skins on interior house doors.
