I've since refined my Googling skills and found some similar tables, had no luck previously.
I definitely prefer to over engineer where I have any doubts, so I'll look more into what's available.

I wouldn't use a pin at all.

I'd get pair of largish (50mm+ OD) bearings and using appropriate clearances bolt the inside of the bearing to the sides of the torsion box. On the insides of the supporting frame add thick boards with a holes the size of the bearing outer and cut through to the top of the boards to create U-shaped supports for each bearing . That way the box with the bearings on the sides can just drop into their U supports. This will give you a smooth turn and easy removal and replacement when required. You will need to employ a suitable stop mechanism to hold the box in one position.

Your supporting frame will need to be quite rigid as you don't want it opening up allowing the torsion box to drop out.

Hi Bob,

That sounds like a much simpler and neater solution, but just so I've got it pictured correctly, Do you mean a bearing with an extended inner race or something else entirely?

I'm just wondering what the three tools are in your picture? Just because if its a saw under that grinder hanging upside down I don't know if I'd be doing that. I cant tell what the black thing is on the right.
I'd be keeping a saw, drop saw or compound saw well away from a grinder because if its anything like my grinder area , there is a 5 to 600mm radius of grit and fine metal particles hanging about. And I treat my compound saw like a baby I love because its so nice to me with what it achieves if its running smoothly . Its upside down and out of the way so may receive less grit but I'd be keeping them further apart if that was your intention.

I was thinking of a bush of some kind that hold the outer races away from the sides of the box.

Dust extraction can be used on a grinder.

It's just a quick mock up of a thicknesser, didn't actually put any effort into it sorry and there were none in the 3d warehouse.

I don't actually own the Bosch saw, it's on a very long future appropriations list, I have a crappy 909 masters special. I definitely don't baby it.
I've actually held off on this project because I 'd really like to replace it, so whatever saw station I build will have to be adaptable/ replaceable.
I don't really do a great deal of metal work currently, tidy a few threads on the linisher, shape some aluminium.

So what if I used this bearing https://circled.com.au/radial-insert...t-bearing.html, I could make a wooden housing for it? Some 30mm rod and a brass bush in the torsion box? I can almost see it working.
