I was worried i broke it. Ita one of those security doors with no mesh. You know the thick screen and at dusk you cant tell the door is shut especially if your writing on the forum at the same time

You broke the first law of doors - open first before proceeding!
Did you get any sympathy at home? Doesn't look like you are getting much here, just a bit of stick
Could have been worse, your phone might have been damaged.
Hope the wound heals before the GTG,
Alan...

My boss once told me that if I'm "looking for sympathy, you'll find it in the dictionary between Sh.. and Syph....."???? very comforting he was, NOT
Hope it heals soon Dave.

Meanwhile the job presses on. One room stripped
Next door well on the way
Pulling the skirtings by prising down on the bar. The blade supported by the bottom plate and peel the board off the wall. Starting is the trick. We donr wont to damage the wall or boards if we can help it

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.
I've been using the ubute festool track saw for cutting up some wisa board (3mm phenolic resin both sides with checker plate pattern pressed on 1 face layed on marine grade ply)
Mate it would have been perfect for what you are doing from memory its about 10 or 12mm from the outside edge. I'll check that in the morning.
You're more than welcome to come and get it but by the looks of it you have found another way.

Hate to come late to the party, particularly with Dave having so much fun.
but I got to ask a question... Why didn't you just run solid timber overlay straight onto what was there? Gotta be a reason and I missed it...

Welcome aboard John.
Yes would have been a great way to do it and nice and solid unlikely to ever squeak. The readon is there are pokished boards theough the door way that are fixed to joists
They wanted the floor continuous. I will have to pull up some of the hall to key it in or maybe the entire section between doors. Also have to go straight across into main bedroom too
