I have one but of course can't find it at the moment. Simple flat base with 2 boards attached at right angles to the base but angled away from the front. Each of the vertical boards has a semicircle cut out of it. Painted black.
Will have a woman's look later.

How about seeing if you can find a small tree or branch that has 3 smaller branches coming away more or less at the same level, mount it on a flat base and have the footy cradled by the 3 branches like an upside down tripod.

How about a lamp stand type of base. Sort of frank loyd type. Come up to two shelves/resting areas, at differnt heights. put a low rim around each, shaped to support each ball or just have flat shelf type with a hole in the middle to support the balls. The balls could sit mostly out or almost half way through.
Just an idea.
Where they will be displayed will make a difference. up on shelf in the living room may be better to make a light wooded frmaed box with glass side and door to sit the balls in and keep the dust off.
You don't know the wood yet but probably best to keep the woodwork subtle and highlight the balls.

You could get an old footy boot and have it dipped in bronze (whatever the process is) and attach it to a nice base and have the ball attached just like someone is kicking it

Hi gags,
Depends on your machinery, if you gave a lathe turning may be considered. If not straight pieces are the go. Either way timber selection wil be important. How will you bound or maount it?
Rob's idea hase merit. Also be aware that the footy will lose air.
Suggest you have a search on the web. some piccies when finished would be nice.
cheers,
conwood

You could turn up a wooden stand based on the rugby kicking tee. Looks like a small witches hat with the top half cut off at an angle, or on studs as attached
Great minds discuss ideas,
average minds discuss events,
small minds discuss people
