We had the same style of door in our last kitchen. All white 2 pack, high up, on lifters.
I just cut a piece of mdf to the correct size, then routered out the space for the glass inset, including a narrow rebate for the glass. Squared the corners off. Sprayed them. Then dropped them off at the glaziers who cut the glass and siliconed them in place for less then I would have paid for the glass. Then I did something useful with my time. No issues with them in the subsequent 20 years.
If it’s going to be spray painted, think mdf as first choice.Apologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.

All the frames for the 4mm glass in this cabinet are made so that the glass can be replaced if it breaks. The frames have slots in the sides and bottoms, but the top rails are made by laminating the front and back of the rails on either side of 4.5mm pieces at the ends, leaving a slot that the glass can slide through. Once the top rails are glued & dry, the tenons can be cut as per normal.
