why does my framing gun produce sparks??
Hello everyone!
Just wondering, is it normal for a framing gun to produce a spark when firing shots? Doesn't always happen, maybe one in every four shots. I have tried oiling the thing and positive im using the right brand nails. It's sure got me baffled. By the way its a paslode.
cheers

If you were hit with a hammer up the rear end as hard as the nails are, you would "spark" too.
Some of our bigger staplers do it on the odd occassion and it is caused (I think) as the hammer slips off the nail head not as it comes out of the gun.

Mine does it as well on the odd occasion.. I just put it down to the friction caused when the wire holding the nails in place in the gun fractures
Just for your info I have a coil nailer....I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it

Ive seen sparks from my smaller nailers from time to time.
I dont think its a problem.
As long as the innards of your nailer arent getting masticated all is probably well.

You are a very sick man as you are the only person who commented on it.
Any body else who managed to work it out just let it go straight through to Gillie.Cliff.

i have a coiled frameing gun and a coil clout gun. with wire collation, flying particles are going to be common. glasses are a must. and though i have never seen sparks from paper collated senco type guns,i'm not surprised as a spark is just a tiny high speed particle. glasses are a pain , but never as painfull as a day off work with a patch over my eye and the abuse that doctors rain down on us for not wearing glasses
