    I lived in the UK for a number of years (it's where I studied furniture making), when I moved back home to Australia I took quite a large number of tools with me, ebay Australia has nothing on ebay UK, likewise Carbatec has nothing on Axminster tools.

    I too was worried about how customs would deal with the old wooden handled/bodied tools but it was never an issue. As I didn't have much stuff, to be honest mostly tools, I used an excess baggage company. I think for all of my things it came to about 700 pounds, for about 16 boxes, two of which were for bicycles. So for a box the size you're talking of, it should be considerably cheaper.
