My Freud dado blade-issue
Hi All
Early last week I posted that my Freud SD508 Dado had arrived. I was very happy with my choice.
On closer inspection of the blades I noticed that the surface of one of the blades was scratched and that most of the writing was missing. In particular this is in an area where no damage would ever occur during usage.
I'm not sure if this is a result of shipping?
I contacted woodcraft who have now offerd me a $60 refund.
I just want to know if this is what is normally done, should I accept this offer or push to have it replaced. If so, Im not sure who would pay for delivery etc.
As I said, at this stage I dont think it will affect the blade, but I am worried that if something does go wrong and I have accepted the $60 that I will have no recourse later.
If anyone has had a similar issue or any comments, these would be appreciated.
Thanks

I agree and this is what I am going to do. I just wanted to get a feel from people who have been in a similar situation.

I too receive my Freud SD508 from Timberline Tools in the US. The writing on the two outside blades is really flaky and the cheap plastic packaging in the inside does not offer much protection.
Included in the order was a Freud P410 which came with a tooth chipped off. A new one is on its way so hopefully it will arrive ready for me to use.
Overall very happy with the SD508.

Picked up my two new Freud blades from the post office today. Well packaged and pretty quick - two weeks postage. Thanks for Wongo for the advice on going with a Rip and Cross cut blade based on it not being that hard to change blades.
