    Default Front line clamp marks

Does anyone use frontline clamps? Sort of getting tired of ironing out marks from the clamps compressing the timber. Theres probably not a lot you can do with the marks from vertical compression. In regards to horizontal compression, I have used blocks of wood to spread the load/take up the compression, but its a bit of a pain to do.

Has anyone tried gluing some cork-rubber onto surfaces that apply the horizontal pressure - did it help?

What timber are you clamping? How thick is it? And how much pressure are you winding on?

Your stock should be prepared to the point where minimal pressure should be required to bring the panel together. If the boards don't quite come together flat minor adjustments can be made with a soft blow hammer. Don't just keep winding the handle because you can.

    40mm vic ash

yeah i put too much pressure, its so easy to to put too much pressure with their screw mechanism lol

also, the boards arent put through planer/thicknesser - the edges are jointed but over the length of the board there is some bow/twist

Well you're on a hiding to nothing then. Panel clamps are designed to produce panels from straight dimesioned stock, not bent sticks.
