Default Front Vice for new workbench build

Has anyone had any experience with this product? Seems pretty cool.

Sadly I can't afford to look at HNT Gordon's website. If I could I'd buy one of his tail vices.

    I just invented time travel.

I opened this thread, looked at the vice, saw the price....I lost 15 minutes somewhere.

That was a bit of a shock. I mean I get how things are priced and how items can be worth more etc (hell I play golf) I just wasn't ready for that considering I have been looking at $40-$100 efforts going "man that is too much for me".

Being new to this whole world, seeing stuff like this both leaves me in awe at the quality and workmanship, and depression for never being able to afford something like that.

    Yes, and they are excellent!
Installing a HNT Gordon face vise -- or some such

I had some custom changes to mine. I forget how much more the extra wide face was, but probably $50 or thereabouts.
I supplied the Handwheel to Terry, and it was about $110 including postage direct to him from D&D Barry in Narellan. If I was to do that again (and I absolutely would) I would go for the next size up wheel with a little extra weight to increase the momentum. One very quickly learns how much spin is required to move the face a certain distance, and I use a short length of dowel to quickly go to max opening and vv.

    Highly recommended.
