Fulton miter gauge
In my small workshop, I have a DeWalt DWE7480 portable table saw. Not being happy with the provided miter gauge, I purchased a Fulton miter gauge. I love it. Only issue I have is the table saw is an aluminum painted surface and the miter guage is steel.
I fear the miter gage will tear up the paint in the slot and make a mess. Same situation with Incra miter gauges.
Anyone have experience with this type situation or have any suggestions.
Thanks to all,
Jim

I have an Incra mitre gauge and it has a very thin layer of what appears to be textured black polypropylene adhered to the bottom of it which rides on the flat tabletop so there is no metal to metal contact.

Jim, I have the Incra 1000HD. Over here you can buy them with either the metric or imperial racks and measuring tape. Does your saw have the standard 3/4" mitre slots?

Treecycle,
Thanks again for the note. Yes my saw has 3/4×3/8 miter slot. I looked at the Incra 1000HD, and just a bit out of my price range. I waxed up my miter guage and miter slot about six times and it is a bit smoother.
I have resigned myself to the fact that I may need to live with this situation. At my age, the table will probably out last me anyway. I'll let my children decide how to handle the situation should they choose to do so.
Thanks again for the help.
Best regards,
Jim

yep if you continue to lube the slot and gauge it should alleviate the possible issue you talk about.
