I was just thinking.
What if I opt for a smaller shed but use my car garage instead...
Only prob is getting the idea passed SWMBO.
The garage is a 2 car garage ie approx 6m * 6m and I extended the side out another 1.5m.
I could buy machines with wheels and then move the cars out when I do woodworking.
At the moment we leave our nice new car in and part the older one on the drive as my workbench takes up the space lol
My wife wants to park both cars in the garage.
Any ideas anyone, I am open to suggestions....

A decent thicknesser/jointer combo and a standard width table saw will fit in 2.5m wide nicely at one end, saw on the right and combo on the left inside a little further, infeed/outfeed through a full width roller door.
Obviously you wont be able to cut wide sheets, but that can be easily overcome by saw horses and a circular saw else where.(in that 6x6 garage)
Put all other machines along one bench 2.5m long by 450 wide behind the table saw, pivot a out feed table off this for the tablesaw.(maybe put in a roll out cabinet under it as the support for the out feed table?)
This would leave you reasonable sized area for the woodworking bench and room to work.
The trick would be to put a roller door at the entrance and a PA/roller door at the other end on one side(you need to get your produce out after all!), get as much height as possible and it wouldnt cost much extra to fully insulate it while being built.
Putting the dusty in another area would be a big advantage, it would be best to use a PFC filter in a muffled enclosure if near neighbors/family. But you could just wheel it around at a pinch....................................................................

I did not have the option of a shed plus garage so I thought I could combine both. We have not been able to get the car in for 15 years! Before that, it was a real PIA having to move stuff to get car in.
Suggest that you go with biggest feasible shed and keep garage for cars and as an assembly area when needed.

Have to agree with GC.
Moving WIP, stopping the job before you want to etc etc because you know ya have to fit the cars back in there somewhere.
Drives ya nuts.
Almost to the point that you walk out there and all you can bring yourself to do is think about what you want to make instead of making it coz ya know the effort you need to got to to actually clear the area before and after, especially if it isn't a small one day project and will drag out for a while.
You also have to cleverly work out what you will have where down the sides so you can still fit the cars.
Reverse one in and drive the other in so the drivers doors can still be opened in the center walkway etc coz all your gear, machines and cupboards are along the side walls and your too fat to squeeze out the drivers doors otherwise. (not that fat ol me has that problem - what shoes am I wearing today, i can't see them)
Then you get lazy and only move one car out coz you have enough room. The second car ends up covered in crap and SWMBO complains she can't drive because the windscreen has now been thinly laminated with timber.
Great option all-but, best of luck.Bare foot and still able to count to ten.

It is a good idea to go higher if you can , and insulate it , i used a product called E THERM . It comes in 30 m rolls just over 1 m wide and i used tech screws combined with a large washer to fix it to the purlins .
Easy to clean down , more comfortable in summer , reduces the noise , brightens the area up due to its colour , and the big factor it was reasonably priced .
