    Default Gazebo idea's ?

    Am planning to build a gazebo using an existing round stone slab (ex hills hoist base) as the floor.
    My initial thoughts are, octagonal with permapine posts sunk into the ground around the perimeter of the slab, and sloped/gable/hip style roof (unsure of the term) all roof timbers angle up and meet in the centre forming an apex.
    Any thoughts on plans would be of value as well as info on how to cut and fix the roof timbers in the centre.
    Sorry if I sound a bit vague, am trying to gather some ideas and formulate a plan of attack.
