    Talking For the geeky woodworker

If you have grown bored with the usual wooden things to make - try to make these Way beyond my abilities - both in computing and wood work, but I thought that there are some members of this board whom combine the expertise to construct it.

looks nice... but why bother when its only going to be scraped in a few years because the case form factor is too out of date.

    Reasons,
    !. Coz its unique
    2. Not many other woodies can make it
    3. Its a challenge which is great as the common old stuff gets ho-hum after years of woodwork.
    4. It'd be a great concept for a competition entry such as the "Create From A Crate" competition

Theres probably a few more reasons too.

Harry, you could always biuld a "tower" case if required. Think of the positive comments about your ability to contruct a unique testament to your skills as a woodworker and computer geek - upgradeable on a whim, good looking and stylish!

I have seen one in Maximum PC 2 years ago in a section called Rig of the Month. I do have to say that the one there is much nicer.

!. Not really theres a few around on the net, although the style of that one is unique would suit one of those fancy yanky pillar type desk.
    2. I dont think it would be all that hard for most woodies.
    3. Yes it'll be a nice change but I think theres more worth while things to be made, I can under stand modding the keyboard and monitor mouse as they are always in view, the box can be stashed easily and should be to quiten it down(fan noise sucks).
    4. Yes that'll be an excellent entry, raise many eyebrows for thinking out of the circle. An idea would be to do a WIP(current forum trend!)while making it and then making up a powerpoint(pps.exe)presentation to display it at the CFC exhibition!
