Do you think its always necessary to glue up banding ?
Cause with the banding I've done in the past I make the fit so tight in the groove, I doubt it ever come out........ Belt it in, then plane it nice.
I think making it so tight is important, because it closes up any little gaps. Just looks better and better the tighter it is....
Found that I can creep onto that sort of fit off the thicknesser.....uno thicknessing the banding down...checking every pass.
Adding glue just seems a waste of time. ( or am completely wrong ?)

Couldn't you get differential swelling/contraction between the different timbers resulting in your banding dropping out?
I'm just guessing never having done any but how much time does it take to add a few drops of glue and give it a wipe?

Yes, good point.....really thin banding though. Around 2mm. And its hammer tight to begin with.
Wanted to avoid glue cause I'm using the banding to bind fabric down...and I didn't want any glue near the fabric...
