I was looking at Greg Lee's photos of his table mounted router and noticed that he can get the collet to protrude quite a way from the base. I have adjusted mine using the winder and the yellow knob attached to the pin, tried in both positions and can only get mine to slightly protrude through the base. This makes it difficult to change the bit.
I think the problem is with a roll pin situated at the top of the base plate between the dust chute and the GMC sticker. There is a pin and screw on which the groove in the router motor assembly slides. This pin stops the router motor assembly from going down in to the base.
Once my router is all the way down there is still room for the motor assembly to move about another 7mm down through the base plate but the pin and screw are stopping this movement.
Is anybody else having this problem or know how i can fix it?
