    Yeah thats good although, if you multiply your "Square" by 1 : 1.618 you end up with the same measurment albeit more quickly and very acurate. Conversley you can also divide by the same so, you can find the height via the golden section / rectangle as well. The golden section is an excellent tool to use for the aesthetics of an object. There are other ways to proportion furniture and environs though. Arithmetic, Fibonacci and Greek classical to name a few. Well worth looking into if you want to design and make furniture that not only looks good but is good to use.
