grays online
Headsup just got an email from grays regarding an auction of woodworking tools in NSW Unreserved: Woodworking, Machinery, Tools & Forklift Sale looks like some bargains
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

Whoa some of the bids already are up there. (Read: Out of control.)
Ozito biscuit joiner, $119, + buyers premium + GST = $142.50
A brand new one is cheaper, plus you get a warranty!!

Three Festool Systainers full of various screws/fixings for $79 plus premium is not too bad. A fourth metal container of fixings also included.
Still some good buys there, 2x500 sheets of various Sitar abrasive papers for $79 plus premium.Kev

Gray's Online.
Hi to you all,
Please be careful of these people, as I signed up awhile ago & they don't leave you alone, as they bombard you with Emails. Anything up to 4 Emails a day.
I have been unable to get rid of them, but someone may know how.
They don't respond to sent Emails asking them not to send anymore, but they still do.
The big problem with them is, you have to pick the items up in Sydney, as they will not post anything, so that is no good to the Vics. QLD's, & so on, & as you say, their prices are ridiculous.
Not happy Jack.
Regards,
issatree.

Jack,
You should be able to log on and change your preference to not have any email notifications sent to you. Log in to GRAYS, select MY GRAYS (Towards the top left corner of the page.), then click on the GRAY MAIL tab, check the please unsubscribe me box, and submit. Also same GRAY mail area go to the bottom of the page DESELECT ALL and submit, this should stop all the emails for you.
I used to get emails but turned it off.
I have purchased wine and some electrical stuff, all fine. Been to a few of the on-site inspections before the on-line auction to check out a work bench and some racking, and some home office equipment but most of what was on offer was junk. I know my boss buys heaps through them and has had no problems,
Do your homework and check the net for price comparisons. Grays will often quote ORP (Original retail price) which is what the thing cost when it first came onto the market, and the current retail price can be much, much less. Especially true for anything computer or entertainment wise. I have seen people pay $2500 for a factory return/re-conditioned plasma TV with a limited warranty (ORP $3200), that you could go to Harvey Norman or the like and get for under $2000 with a full warranty.
Also don't forget to include the buyers premium, delivery costs if applicable, and then GST if applicable, this quickly adds up. So you bid and "win" a $50 item, as an example, plus 13.5% buyers premium, plus $18 delivery plus GST becomes $82.23 (Possibly not such a bargain any more.)Ron
