Default Guess its just one of them days!!!

Wooooo hooooo "Finally" got my tablesaw today from carbatec after waiting since July, anyway got the saw home and called the neighbour to give me hand to get it off the back of the ute and in its new home, I thought OK lets have a read of the manual see what I need to do to get this bad boy fired up, I open the door to the table saw pull out some bags of parts look around for the manual and no manual. Quick call to carbatec and explained the problem, they were very good about it and said that they will post the manual out. I return back to the shed and thought I will try and work out where the bits and pieces go. Look at the first piece and try and work out where it fits onto the tablesaw, after several minutes of holding the piece scratching my head and looking around the tablesaw to workout where it belongs I give up, I pick up the next piece thinking to myself that it looks familar but doesn’t look like a piece that belongs to the tablesaw. I then realise I have been give the wrong parts, The parts I have been given belong to a Bench grinder. By this time carbatec have shut for the day. I figure I’ve waited this long for the saw a few more days wont hurt!! Will call them on Monday. Guess its just one of them days!!!

Can anyone kindly tell me what parts are supposed to come with the, TSC 10HB table saw so I can workout what bits are missing.
    Regards
    Al .

I once had the pleasure (I am joking) of putting together an MBS 300 saw. The instructions were so clear and precise that it only took me 20 hours. The biggest problem I had was that the container held some odd bits and pieces which I now realise are from some other type of machine entirely. But being a diligent chap I spent a long time (a very long time) trying to find a home for everything.

I've had a dust extraction unit on order since August, and it is due in "next week", at least that is the story I get each time I ring up.

This weeks story changed to"the container is in quarantine, as the customs found 'dirt' in it".

I have all the ducting installed, all the machinery connected, but no damn dusty to extract the dust !!

Took me over 10 weeks to get the replacement bearings for my ML-392 planer/thicknesser.
Mind you the day they went kaput I went to CBC and got good quality Timken replacements for $5.00 ea.
Didn't let on and thought I would just wait and test them out. Finally got 2 replacements 10 weeks after they broke!!!!
Bad luck if I was really needing the bearings and waiting on them.

They stuffed me around a little (very little) bit and made amends by selling me a better saw for $600 off the list price. I'm happy with them and their willingness to make good.

For what its worth, I know they get the stuff from Taiwan very poorly marked, my TS had no marking whatsoever on the outside of the packing, except for a small (1" X 2") sticker with TS12-R 1PH written on it, which I was told was a miracle that it managed to survive the trip. If that's the way they get them i'm not surprised they mix some up.

I can only talk about my experiences with Carbatec Sydney.

I had to wait four ar five weeks for my saw, but when I finaly got it, it included everything, there was nothing missing,

    What I'm saying is : I didn't have a bad experience.

Sure it would have been tip top to take delivery on the day, but that was never going to be a realistic expectation..

I was also told up front that it was on back order.

    PS
    I LOVE my TSC-10HB

The TSC-10 HB comes in one box and the fence in a seperate box. You seem to have the miter gauge and as far as I recollect the wings are loose in the box with the saw, so there should be 4 or 6 mounting bolts.I cannot understand how bench grinder parts ended up in the saw box, especially if they got the 10HB in specially for you. I can understand if it was on display and then boxed up, I suppose if a really dumb person boxes it up the bench grinder bits can end up in the box.
Please note that most the Carbatec 'branches' are independently owned as franchises. You guys can really wish that you deal with Carbatec in Perth. Friendly service, fair to good prices, OK sometimes things are out of stock as it is impossible to always guestimate sales accurately in advance. Some time ago 4 guys in the woodturning class that I ran, bought BAS-350 Bandsaws from them in one week....two bought on the same day. The volume of stock that they move here in Perth is phenominal. I am very glad that I don't deal with the other shops! Well I'll pick up my TSC-10HB on Tuesday as I have sold my old table saw today to make room for the new one.BTW if you have hassles getting stuff from the other shops, why not ring Perth, they send stuff to all the states including Tassie.....have a look at Ernknot's post re the service he got all the way over in Tassie from the Perth store.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    Thanks for your help guys

Its no big deal as long as the issues are rectified, which has been the case so far. I'm just happy that I finally have the saw, These things happen. Someone has just grabbed the wrong bag of parts when they put them inside the cabinet as the saw didnt come in a box, Just had a thought  Someone is probably in their shed trying to put their bench grinder together with the wrong parts.

I live in Tasmania ( if you haven't noticed) and I get all my stuff from Carb-Tec in WA. It costs me more to get it shipped but I get what I order and it comes pretty much on time. The reason I go to WA is because of your honest e-mails about poor service. You need to undersdtand that Carba-Tec is franchised and as such not a homogenous company with the same rules and customer service ethics. Therefore you can't tar them with the same brush. Seems like Melbourne really sucks! Go with the best! go west!
There has to be a discount here somwhere????? Only kidding. I did contact the principal up in Qld some time ago ang he responded by saying he is not responsible for the franchisees etc etc etc. and did not come back and say he would kick butt severly to get rogues back in line, thanked me for my input and that was the end of it. I guess he must be making enough not to worry (at this time)
