    Default Gun Stock Modification

Hi Folks, Has anyone in the Adelaide area had experience with gun stock modification? I have an Anschutz target rifle and want to install an adjustable cheek piece.

The stock needs a precision cut with the bandsaw and a little work blending the cut to the existing pistol grip. Also needs some milling/drilling to accomodate the riser kit for the cheek piece and installing the cheek piece itself...

Any help would be appreciated - not sure where to start looking for someone with this kind of experience.

    Cheers,
    David.

    Default Gunstock mod's

    David,
Have a look in gunsmiths in "Sporting shooter" and "Fur and Feather".
Its not in Adelaide, but you could try "Peter Abela" in Horsley Park NSW. Also log ont Working Retriever Central and post a message - lots of shooters (mostly shotguns, but riflemen also). the site is: Australian Working Retriever Central

rather than modify the stock, you should be able to get a stock with the adjustable cheek piece. I had one on my 1807, came standard,

FWIW Liogier makes a gunstock rasp. It's down the bottom of the page, underneath the Former Rasp (so what is it now, one feels compelled to ask?).
