Default wanted: hand powerd drill press

    Howdy,

Not sure where I should have posted this so Mod if you wish to move it to a relevent place please feel free.

I am looking to get rid of as many powerd tools as I can in my shed and I saw a great hand cranked drill press on ebay but I missed it by about 5 minutes. It ended up only selling for about 20 - 30 bucks.

Anyway if any one has an old hand powerd drill press they either want to get rid of or sell please feel free to contact me.

The fellow who was selling it had it sitting out in the shed but never used it as he was power tool oriented. It was his grandfathers and he can remember using it a lot as a small boy.

So .... anyone want a good home for their old drill press please PM me.

    Cheers,

    Spanner69.

There are two sorts of human powered drill press; the small benchtop type and the larger blacksmiths drill that has to be bolted to a wall..........which one were you after?
I tried to sell my blacksmiths drill recently......no takers.
We don't know how lucky we are......

    Spanner.
I know is is along time since you posted, but are you still looking for a hand cranked drill press? I have this one taking up valuable space in my small shed.

It is fully functional, has two speeds.

Let me know otherwise I'll list it on the for sale forum

These are great, my dad had one in his shed.
I remember drilling a 1/2 inch hole thru a 2 inch hunk of cast iron when I was very young.
The low gearing and flywheel on top help a lot.
I seem to remember you got it spinning and as it lowered into the material and started to bite there was a knob to make it (and you ) work harder.

It is a great tool . I used it to drill all the 20 dog holes in my 90 mm bench top. Only because I couldn't fit it under my electric drill press.
