Hardwood Edging
Hi guys,
I have just finished the planning stage of a couple of desks I intend to build and would like some advice on where I would be able to get some 25 x 25mm finished jarrah around Melbourne (preferably in the eastern suburbs).
I will be making the desks out of 19mm MDF myrtle veneer and would like to attach the jarrah to the outside edges rather than using veneer edging.
I intend on running a router along the top and bottom to make the face edge round (or close enough to). Are there any timber suppliers out there that have the facilities to do that for me so I only have to mitre and attach it?
I have attached a drawing of the desk I made in AutoCAD so it would be clearer what I mean.
Nax
Here is the desk almost finished.....
Cleaning can come later.

Ferntree Gully Timber on Burwood Hwy used to have a large supply of Jarrah.
I have not been there for a long time so do not know what they have now but they would be worth a try.
Also called the 'Jarrah Joint' or something similar.
Also Lewis Timber in Ormond - they have a website which lists the sizes available.

Thanks Chesand, unfortunately the yard in Ferntree Gully has closed down, but Lewis timber were able to sort me out just fine.
I have got the first desk together, bar a trim here and there and some sealant. Thought I would post a pic since this is the first thing I have ever made from wood.
You will have to excuse the mess...not one of my strong points
