Haron biscuits - a brief review
They're garbage, don't buy them. These are two #10 biscuits out of the same bag.
Now waiting for my Bix biscuits to arrive.

Is it possible they make 2 different thicknesses and they got mixed up when packaged?
The person who never made a mistake never made anything
Cheers

#20, #10, and #0 biscuits have the same thickness and are cut with the same blade. It's just the length and width of these size biscuits that changes. There are many under and over thickness ones in the same bag.

Bix to the rescue
I ordered #10 and #0 biscuits from Bix two days ago and they have arrived, great turnaround time for what must be a tiny order for them.
The pictures speak for themselves. These are just four #10 I picked out of the bag and close up of two of them.

I occasionally borrow a friends Lamello biscuit joiner - no idea of the branding of the biscuits that either of us have bought.
Before use, I usually squeeze each biscuit in the vice so they slide into the mortice really easily. The glue rehydrates them and they quickly swell to a very snug fit.

I just looked at the Bix site - their 'oval fluted dowels' - are they essentially dominos? anyone tried them?

They do look like dominos.
be nice to have a close look at some
their website only has small pictures, tricky to see if they're the same

Well, this is an interesting point, an interesting product (Bix) that I hadn't heard of before.
So - time to do some Google-Fu.
Here's the dimensions of the Dominoes: Festool DOMINO - tenon dimension and mortise width options
Looking at the product order page: https://www.bix.com.au/epages/shop.s...CT%20PRICES%22 leads me to the conclusion that the only size that matches the Festool Domino is the 10mm oval tenon. All other sizes they offer appear, on spec, to be 1mm too wide.
One would have to buy some of each size and test them to be sure, but it *looks* like they are "mostly unsuitable".
Also, doing a quick "price check", these may be no cheaper. Bix want $38.61 including GST for 170 x 6mm Oval Fluted Dowels, or 22.711 cents per "domino". Festool want $42.00 for 190 of the same, or 22.105 cents per domino.
On that pricing structure, save your time, effort and frustration, and just buy the originals in my opinion!

that's good work midnight man.
I'll just buy the originals. as you suggest.
I know lots of people do make their own dominos.
But woodworking is my hobby and I don't really have the equipment to do this.
So buying them is the best option for me.
