Yep, it was a Geoff Hannah cabinet, I think he's asking about $AU1.3M.

I saw his Australiana cabinet on display at the Queensland Art Gallery I couldn't get up close to it because of a rope barrier but (that and SWMBO and kids wanted to keep on walking past it, so I didn't get too long to admire it).
I make things, I just take a long time.

It's not a style that I like, but you certainly can't fault the quality of his work.

Horrendous! It was such a hotchpotch. Sadly, he's like a lot of modern craftsmen who lack in design ability, but often make up for it with exceptional cabinetmaking skills. I wonder what his hourly rate is.

    Let me handle this one.

    $1,300,000, takes 9 months.

    1300000/6570 = $198 per hour.

Well I just looked it up and he said it took him 5000 hours as he keeps a note of the hours it takes and he does it like a tradesman. So $1300000/5000 = $260/hr.

I just made my one up.

I wonder why he asked for 1.3M, I mean why not ask for say $50M US. If he sells one then he is set for life.

I tried delving into the news stories on Aunty for the segment on him and came up with nothing.

Like pretty much everyone else, I don't think the cabinet would fit with the decor of many houses and it wouldn't fir in with any of mine current or otherwise, but it's the skill that I drooled over.

I reckon if you could afford a cabinet for 1million theirs a fair chance it would fit in

The segment was excellent to see. Love to spend a day chatting to him, he is a gun. And gota laugh at those criticising him…
