Thanks mate! I'll take some more photos tomorrow and post ) It's a European style workbench... thick top made from 16 laminated pieces of 19mm stock (Bunnings didn't have anything bigger!), thick legs with through haunched mortise and tenons joinery, aprons the length of the bench rebated into the legs, a well board in the bench for tools, and a vise from trade tools with one of those great quick release thingamejigs on it.

Looking forward to seeing pics of the bench.
Funny you say that about the f-clamps. The spring broke on mine from trade tools on the first day of use. It still works fine and I didn't bother taking it back. Shame, their clamps seem very good for the money otherwise.
Please excuse my manners before, Welcome!Cheers,
Shannon.

Pics are forthcoming! Just need to get them off my phone. Thanks for the welcome, too! I agree about trade tools... $25 seemed like a good price for the clamps, especially since they didn't seem to have much else, and no sash clamps.
I like your subtitle thingie under your name. I, too, am a chisel-wielding computer nerd. Although over the past couple of years, I've been trying to cut down computer time (and have refused almost all requests to fix others' computers!) and do more real-life stuff, like work around the house (woodwork!) and getting out of the house and socialising. Much nicer than driving a desk! )

Yep not a fan of being behind the desk. My back complains wildly when I spend too much time there. Thankfully that is not too often.
I'm actually gearing up to start my own bench (having got my priorities in and the dining table finished) so lurking here and there is an important pastimeCheers,
Shannon.
