Help with Bog or Filler for rough Spotted Gum table
Hi All, I am new at this so please be patient. I purchased a beautiful pies of spotted gum that I am turning into an outdoor table / bench. My problem is there are large gaps in the wood that need filling. I have tried builders bog, but the colour is wrong. I have also used 2 part apoxy clear, which works really well but is so expensive I will never get the holes filled. See photos, as I said I am new to this so any advice would be appreciated 20130727_151608.jpg20130727_151621.jpg20130727_151631.jpg20130727_151638.jpg20130727_151704.jpg

Maybe Possible.
Hi Soozie,
What about trying to Tint the Blog.
Haymes Paints gave me some tint, along time ago, now.
You only need 1 - 2 drops.Regards,
issatree.

Too expensive
Thanks for your response, we will try a tint in the builders bog and see how that goes. I liked the epoxy but unfortunately it is way too expensive.

G'Day & welcome to a top forum "soozie".
I had something similar with a table size slab of Sydney Blue Gum about 8-10 yrs ago.
I used the clear epoxy filler, it still looks good; you can see into the depth of the timber adding a feature.
Sorry I can't answer your exact question, it just what I did and IMHO I'd encourage down a similar path.
Cheers, crowie
