    Which one? A or B - supposed to be modern and sleek.

    B - the same but each corner is with mitre joins.

    I think I would go with Tansu style box joints.

    Miter for a modern look. There are all manner of spline patterns you can add to spice it up. Take a look at the box making forum for ideas.

    Yea im going to go with the mitres now. What type of wood for the spline would you suggest?

    Heres a sketchup on what the splines would look like with some Huon pine splines. Only two 6mm wide by 20mm deep. Should I just to splines on the two top corners, or on every corner?

    Do all four.

    My reasoning: doing only 2 admits that they're purely decorative, but all 4 suggests that they're purposeful and structural.
