Default Help finishing live edge slab

    Hi,
I currently working in a big live edge slab table, but struggling to decide how to finish it. I would like to keep the live edge as intact as possible, but as you can see it was previously varnished with a really ugly stain. Does anyone have suggestion how I can remove/sand back the stain while keeping the woods natural character as much as possible?

Soft wire wheel on an angle grinder, light strokes in the direction of the grain ONLY, don't dwell too long in one spot, practice first - LOTS.

By soft wire wheel I mean one like this.

Not the thick gnarly twisted wire brushes used for deep crusty rust on metal.
