Help with Floorboard Marks
Hi all,
My partner decided to drag some furniture accross the timber floorboards (not sure what type of timber but the wood colour is a white shade). This has left a few nasty scars going through the varnish and into the wood in places.
I tried light sanding and polishing to remove the marks but to no avail.
Is there a way to fix this problem - the landlord I would imagine will take a dim view of this I would imagine.“There’s no right, there’s no wrong, there’s only popular opinion.”

Get a can of Wipe-on Polyurethane Gloss. Use a small soft cotton piece of a rag wipe across th scratch then apply a feathered wet coat. If deep cut, do several applications but remember to allow to harden over night each application. May take several days but worth the wait. If the appearance is too shiny then you can scuff it up with steel wool or Scotchbright pads

Thanks Hickory,
After the light sanding and polishing I first tried, I decided to give it a light coating of spirit based varnish. I am waiting for that to go off, then sand and re-coat. Doing this several times with a finer sanding with each coat.
If that doesn't work, I will give your suggestion a go. I'll let you know how it works.“There’s no right, there’s no wrong, there’s only popular opinion.”
