    Default Need help identifying this wood

    Newbie here both in this forum and woodworking. Anyway, have the opportunity to purchase a slab of timber, but not sure on the type of timber. Seller thinks its walnut. What do you guys think?

    We're gonna need better pics if you want anything more specific than "looks like wood to me". Whatever it is, some insects thought it tasted pretty good.
