    Default Need Help Joining Oposites...

Well, I am trying to join two slats coming off of the one peice of plywood, They need to be coming off the plywood at the same height etc, they need to be the same, basically one long piece of timber, but with a sheet of ply halfing it. I'm joining 90 x 35 pine slats to a 12mm thick plywood wall of what I am constructing, although I do not know how I can join both the peices in the same place, as the 90 x 35 slats are being screwed into the plywood from the other side, through the plywood and into the slat.

So theres my problem, I need to know how I can join them both onto the plywood in the same spot. I have made a diagram becuase I cannot properly explain it probobly.. Please note I am an ameture paint artist

Structurally, it would make more sense to have one long continuous length of 90x35, and cut a notch out of the ply. But it all depends on what you are making! If it's not taking any load, just a skew nail or two should be right.

Long dowels. Thru the ply and ending in each slat.

Myself, I'd probably notch the ply.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
