Please don't pick on the new kid
Hi everyone in woodworking land. Just thought I would write a quick hello. After looking around the forum for a few weeks finally got the courage to write a message let alone pick up the woodworking tools again.
Just a quick querie though, as I move around a fair bit (due to working for defence), was wondering does anyone know of a good way to make a portable tool cabinet that I can take with me everytime I move?
thanks in advance,
Blackers

Welcome Blackers. We never pick on newcomers unless they are trolls or blatently deserve it.
I guess you are looking for plans for a portable tool chest. I don't have any links myself, sorry.
Are your tools mainly hand tools or power tools?

Something like this:

You could put it on wheels if you want it portable within the shed.
For your Defence moves, the removalists should have no trouble at all.
Welcome to the forum. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

In the Pus?
G'day Blackers,
I'm guessing you are at Cerberus, living in Sommerville. I'm over in Stirling myself.
I know what you mean about portability. Ive basiclly put everything on wheels. I made my bench, which has cupboards underneath where I store portable tools.
Main machinery is Triton, which helps with portability.
Hope this helps, enjoy sunny CerberusGreatest Movie Quote Ever: "Its good to be the king!"____________________________

thanks for the help so far........
Thanks for the links guys. They are the type of thing I was looking at building. I will post some pickies (got to watch the spelling, Gumby is out there somewhere) when I build it. Won't be for a while yet as I am off to merry old England for a month. Might catch the cricket and see what tools are available over there also. Have to see how much I can slip past SWMBO and customs.

Have a good trip Blackers. If you are in to turning then Pommie land is the home of Hamlet chisels.

My advice is to ignore Gumby. The rest of us do.

Giday, Blackers. Welcome to the forum.
I'm just 'round the corner from you in Langwarrin, so "howdee neighbour".
Like you, I'm very much into portability, to the point that I have three lots of tool boxes with wheels, three tables in the garage on wheels, a super trolley for wheeling the real heavy stuff around. It's seems the older I get the more wheels I get 'suppose eventually it might be a chair with wheels. Who knows??
Anyway, what sort of gear do you like to build?
