Do you have a design for Australian children? It looks really well.
    .
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

I am no expert, but I wonder whether the back legs should be extend back further than the back rest for the purpose of stability. Some kids like to do odd things with their chairs.

In terms of chair design, the lever effects are pretty low with a chair this small and the legs correspondingly big and chunky.

    In terms of durability ...
my father has made at least three of these chairs -- one for each grandkid

the one used by my neice is still extant 16 years later having been used as both a chair and a ladder (to get to kitchen bench height)
my 10 y.o. still uses his occasionally although his legs are far too long for the seat height. From memory the "sweet" age was about 15months to 6 years

For those with access to a library, the design is in
Nelson, John A. -- 52 Toys & Puzzles for the Weekend Woodworker -- Sterling Publishing, New York, 1994

I think the book is still in print, hence my reluctance to post a copy of the design here

    regards from Alberta, Canada

    Default ok... just touching base...

LOL... just told you've done some or planning to do some childrens chairs.....

I've finished doing a set for granddaughters... sorry no plans... designed them myself....

Specifically didn't want chairs with four legs... I've been mum to 4 kids... Executive Nanny(Professional Career)... to 7 others/3 families over 25 years... & chairs with 4 legs tip over too easy for little kids... not stable enough... the other reason I designed my own... chairs with gaps between dowels & frames(kids like to get they heads stuck....true!)

Try to draw up your own plans .... walk into toyshops with tape measure... look at what other people have.... its pretty easy.. take note book & pencil... lol

Hope you will post a picture when you've done them...
    cheers Kerry....KEKEMO
Don't think you're playing it safe by walking in the middle of the road.....that's the surest way to get hit by traffic coming from both ways!
I'm passionate about woodwork.......making Sawdust again & loving it!
