Default Help! Sanding black tinted resin goes grey

I am using tinted resin to fill holes in a timber table. I have sanded a test piece and the resin goes grey. I believe this is due to either tiny scratches from the sanding or having melted the epoxy with the orbital sander which would give a grey finish.
When moistened, the jet black finish returns.
Will the resin be jet black after I put a finish on the table (Danish oil) or how can I avoid this grey finish while sanding?
    Thanks!

Don't worry about it, the grey is from resin dust left from sanding. A shot of compressed air will clean it off if you want, but it will still be black once you polish it.

This is a redgum burl with black polyester resin filled voids and router planed.

This is sanded to #400 grit.

And this is burnished up to #4000 grit wet sanded with Organoil HBO. The resin is glass smooth.

    Yes, Yes,Yes,
No worries it will be fine when you put on the finish well sanded as you would with timber and no problems it will be beautiful.
