Question Help : Staining spotted gum with oil

    Hello All,

Hope you can give me some direction.I have just layed spotted gum decking on 6mx6m deck.As you all know its never consistent with color and the timber yards will not give you just the darker color range so i bit my tongue and have it delivered to find some really light colors which i am not really excited about .I layed it but i really want to darken it up........

Can anyone advise me of a stain/oil that will darken up the lighter spotted gum timber so i have a more even consistent color ?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    PJ

Hi good luck spotted gum is picked for its distinctiveness in color changes.
Whatever you use they will look different so go with the whole dark and blond wood and just natural oil.
If you wanted colour constitency you should have used a hard wood like Merbau.

Whilst some of your posts are useful, they are in most cases too late as most of the threads you've replied to are old threads.

You should check the dates to see if your answers will be helpful.
